Integrity When No One Is Watching
Scripture
Proverbs 10:9
“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”
Reflection
Integrity is not the absence of temptation; it is the alignment of the private self with the public self. The word carries the idea of being whole — undivided. Many leaders fall not because of one dramatic decision but because of a hundred small compromises that no one saw: the exaggerated report, the borrowed credit, the promise quietly dropped. Notice the promise in this verse: integrity produces security. The person with nothing to hide has nothing to fear.
Leadership insight
Your reputation is what people say about you; your integrity is what remains true when they stop watching. Build the second and the first will take care of itself.
Prayer
Search me, God, and know my heart. Where I have divided my life into what is seen and what is hidden, make me whole. Give me the courage to be the same person in every room. Amen.
